Video, OOH & More:
Artist Programming Season Announcement
Client: Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO)
Creative Brief: As one of the most reputed orchestras in the world, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is a beacon of the city's cultural scene. And after 18 months of absence due to the pandemic, the CSO's announcement of its 2021/22 season came with its return to the live stage, as well as the extension of famed Maestro Muti’s contract to celebrate him with the momentum he deserves for his final season at the podium. So, the CSO wanted to make some noise about the announcement, build anticipation for the upcoming season for both subscribers and newcomers, and inspire ticket/flex packages/subscription purchases.
Work: I got put on this project literally within my first week of joining the agency handling the CSO account, as the junior copywriter on it for over a month just wasn't quite there yet with it. And, within 2 days, I turned around a completely revamped platform copy deck, 3 video trailer scripts and storyboards, as well as copy for numerous OOH placements, social ads, and a landing page. (The CD and PM nearly cried with relief.) All while kindly guiding, working with, and mentoring the junior copywriter so that she could learn and grow from the experience as well.
Results: Since being posted in July 2021, this video has amassed a total of 72,524 views (as of March 19, 2023). The OOH and social creative also helped to get the grand post-COVID re-opening message out—and brought fans back into the symphony hall en masse for a good stirring of the soul.
